When should you book a glamping site to avoid disappointment?
Published on: Dec 13 2021

If you’re thinking of booking a glamping holiday, timing is crucial. Leave it too late and you could miss out on your perfect pitch, or the ultra-glamorous glamping accommodation you’ve had your eye on.

Here’s our advice on the best time to book a glamping site to avoid disappointment…

The golden rule – book as early as possible

If there’s a particular date you want for your glamping trip, don’t hesitate to book as soon as dates become available. This means you won’t miss out on a pitch or the accommodation you want for that special birthday, anniversary or other celebration.

It always pays to be organised and book ahead. You could potentially hold on for last-minute deals, but these don’t come up as often in the camping world as they do with hotels and holiday packages. If you leave it too late, you could miss out on your chosen dates completely. Prices could even rise, so take advantage of those early-bird prices while you can.

Book ahead for peak and high season glamping

Availability is usually quite limited during peak glamping times, and prices can be higher too. This can vary from site to site, but it generally refers to:

• Bank holidays – including Easter, May Day and the August bank holiday

• School holidays

• Weekends

• Spring and summer.

This is understandable, as everyone wants to go camping in the warmer months and when the kids are off school.

If you’re dreaming of a glamping getaway at a peak time, book as early as humanly possible. This could mean booking ahead by a whole year, or even more – but it’ll be worth it to secure the right date. You could even get in touch with the site and see if they’ll take an early reservation.

Look out for offpeak and low season offers

If you can be flexible about when you go, you could snap up a good deal on your glamping trip. Look out for sites that offer low season discounts and off-peak rates. For example, midweek special offers where bookings are little lower.

You may not need to book super early to take advantage of this kind of deal, but don’t wait around too long – as other keen glampers could take all the best bell tents for themselves. Book at the right time, and you could save money and get the site all to yourself too.

All-year round glamping options

If weather is affecting your plans and you don’t want to join the scrum for peak season pitches, here’s another option. Why not upgrade your trip and book yourself a luxurious glamping pod?

High quality, self-contained pods like our SoulPods are the perfect all-weather solution. They’re fully insulated and can be easily heated, giving you a cosy cabin even in deepest darkest winter. You get the best of the great outdoors and a fabulous camping-like experience, but with all the comforts of home. And you can go anytime!
