How to make your camping site more glam
Published on: Nov 29 2021

Camping doesn’t have to be dull or uncomfortable, and nor should it be. With the right accessories, it can be stylish, glamorous and super cosy too!

Once you’ve got the practical elements sorted like wind and weatherproofing, it’s time to start adding in those little luxuries that your guests will love.

Ready to go from campsite to glampsite? Start with these handy tips:

Cosy bedding and soft textiles

Say sayonara to scruffy sleeping bags. No real glampsite is complete without cosy, comfortable double beds in each bell tent or glamping pod. We’re talking proper pillows, throw rugs, decorative cushions, woollen pouffes and all those other soft textiles that make a space feel like home. You can even pop a handful of hammocks around the place, perfect for the spring and summer months. And don’t forget that all-important decorative bunting!

Proper flooring

It’s sometimes overlooked on some campsites, but flooring marks the difference between an ordinary tent and glamping accommodation that feels like a home-from-home. Flooring such as coir matting gives your guests a clean, dry and pleasant surface to walk on, and it looks great too. After all, no one likes walking on the cold, damp ground – especially in the middle of the night.

Gorgeous lighting

To really give your site that wow factor, especially at night, you need to get the lighting spot-on. It’s all about creating atmosphere and making your guests feel at home. Look into twinkly festoon lights to light up the site – these look amazing when strung from trees, tents and posts. For the accommodation itself, brass or antique-style lanterns are the ideal choice for creating a cosy atmosphere. It could be a good idea to plan a whole lighting scheme, featuring a good mix of different lighting types.

Go all out with a hot tub

The hot tub is the mother of all glamping accessories. There’s just nothing better than sipping a glass of fizz under the stars, while soaking your cares away in a bubbly hot tub. It’s perfect for winter months too, as your guests can stay warm even on a cold night.

Of course, a hot tub is no small purchase. You’ll need to make sure you have the perfect spot for one on your site, and are happy to make the investment. But it can be well worth it from a bookings perspective, as glamping fans absolutely love them.

Extra touches

The glamping sites that are the most popular with guests are those that offer a VIP touches. Campers love those thoughtful touches that make them feel special, whether it’s an espresso machine, chocolates on the pillow or celebration hamper for birthdays and anniversaries. Think about what you can do (for your budget, of course) to make your site stand out.
