Responsible Trade

Responsible or ethical trade tends to be associated with the activities undertaken by multinational companies throughout the world. Comparatively SoulPad is a small organisation and one that does not come under such public scrutiny. It is our belief however, that all companies (big or small) should try to act ethically throughout their supply chain.

Granted, small companies like SoulPad do not have the resources and leverage of the multinationals necessary to implement immediate changes. Despite this SoulPad endeavours wherever possible to trade ethically. We are interested in social and environmentally responsible trade.

SoulPad makes it clear to all of its suppliers that it is our wish that they comply with the following codes of conduct: -

1. Employment is freely chosen
2. Working conditions are safe and hygienic
3. Child labour should not be used
4. Wages are paid
5. Working hours are not excessive
6. No discrimination is practised
7. Regular employment is provided
8. No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed

Whilst SoulPad does not have the power to enforce these wishes, we hope that by expressing them we will make the point that these things are important to us and our customers. If all small companies were to follow suit, we feel the message would be heard loud and clear.

We do feel that our current suppliers are responsible suppliers. We have been happy to trade with them based on both our own observations and their responses to the eight wishes detailed above.

SoulPad tents are produced in a modern, ISO 9001 accredited factory. This means you can be assured that our tents are produced to a consistently high standard using up-to-date equipment and processes.
