Did you know you can sign-up for our newsletter here? It's very interesting you know, and quite a refreshing break from the type of news on TV and radio.

We're really rather pleased with this straight-talking review of the SoulPad 4000-hybrid-G, by Bushcrafter Craig Johnson.
"I have always liked the look of the “traditional” style bell tents. They fit perfectly with my idea of a family/group shelter that allows you to have plenty of room to work/sleep in but at the same time, with the addition of a stove, gives you a warm and comfortable area to retreat to when the weather is inclement. Over the past couple of months, I have been out and using one of the canvas bell tents from SoulPad. It has certainly been strange of late where the weather is concerned but this has allowed me to use the tent in a range of conditions.
Find all of these things in one place (and more besides). Sssshhhhhh! Strictly between fellow SoulPadders, ok? This is a real gem and one that we are ever-so-slightly reluctant to share with the masses. A very special place indeed; Fischer's Fritz.
Particularly good for foodies, very close to Zurich's historical centre and in a truly wonderful setting on the German island of Sylt.
Booking highly recommended. More pics in their gallery here.
What a lovely Christmassy image of 'Bertie Blue' the Camper with SoulPad on George Clark's Amazing Spaces, CH4 last night. Twinkly fairy lights, a stunning camper van and a beautifully lit SoulPad. What's not to like?
One of our bestest camping buddies, Craig Charles continues to choose SoulPad as his tentage of choice for the festival circuit. Arriving at The Glastonbury Festival in the early and soggy hours of Friday morning, Craig knew he had the trusted sanctuary of his SoulPad 5000-ease™ to retreat to.
"SoulPad are the best festival tent people on the 'planet' :)"
High praise indeed! Craig was once an Intergalactic Space Traveller and so really knows his planets.
Those of you who missed Craig's performance at the Hell stage missed a treat. Where were you?! Fear not! You can find him on BBC 6Music too:
Saturdays 1800-2100 on BBC 6Music bringing you the best there is in Soul and Funk mixed in with a little Acid Jazz and a healthy dose of Northern Soul.
Greenpeace's Tabitha Pope (Design Coordinator, Greenpeace Field at Glastonbury Festival) tells us "this year The Greenpeace Field at Glastonbury Festival is brought to you by the frozen North.
• Enter the Arctic Dome for a genuine North Pole experience.
• Gather at the explorers’ hut for first-hand expedition stories.
• Don mittens for the greatest unseasonal spectacle Glastonbury has ever seen – a giant snowstorm.
• Our Farmers’ Market will have the feel of Svalbard village deep within the Arctic Circle.
• Fill up with tasty, healthy food and great coffee in the dock side Cafe before setting off on an Arctic adventure."
Full details here.
Greenpeace are building a movement of millions, standing together in face of climate change, to stop the destruction of one of the last untouched places on earth. Join them at Glastonbury or at www.savethearctic.org
If you look closely you'll find a Pod of Pads too. A number of the Greenpeace team have opted for the SoulPad 3000-hybrid and SoulPad 3000-ultralite to serve as their home-from-home during the festival. They are a friendly bunch, so fellow SoulPadders be sure to say "hi" if you spot them.
Wayne Hall of 6 Months in Scotland Charity Wild Camp (in Aid of 'Shelter') gives his review of the SoulPad 4000-ease™ he's been using for the past 2.5 months.
It's time I sang the praises of what's fast become home over the last 10 weeks.
For 58 of the last 70 nights this 4m SoulPad Ease bell tent has sheltered Jerry & I from hideous weather of every description. It's stored our gear, offered an environment to dry our gear & has really become home from home.
I'm disappointed when not in here, Jerry is too....the little 2 man tent is way too cramped but light, bothy cottages can be busy places & the van is an absolute last resort despite being quite comfy.
The beatings that the SoulPad has taken......70mph+ gales on several occasions....sometimes days of driving rain.....even sheet ice & snow at Glen Affric. A single skin cotton tent doesn't have the right to be still looking so good after intense weather abuse & never did a single drop of rain made it through. Even after it's been soaked for days it dries out fast in the breeze.
The down sides are few & one no fault of the tents at all.
It's a big space inside & therefore more difficult to heat than a small tent.
It weighs just over 20kgs.....no good for back packing! Easy in the canoe. Other than that it's tough, strong, spacious & a nice space to be in.
Thank you SoulPad"
We were thrilled when Artist Brian Griffiths contacted us with plans for his latest piece; 'These Foolish Travels' - an installation that certainly brings a huge splash of colour to Norwich Castle's Keep as part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival.
Visitors to the castle will find four tents on display, one being a SoulPad 4000-ease™ painted to look like the cosmos. The remaining three tents are painted to represent the earth, the castle and the human brain. More images here.
These Foolish Travels runs until Sunday, June 2 at Norwich Castle. Mondays to Saturdays 10am–4.30pm and Sundays 1pm–4.30pm.
Thanks to all Mumsnetters who rated the SoulPad in their top 5 of family tents. We're dead chuffed, we really are.
"Simply the best tent ever, can't recommend it highly enough. We can put it up in about 10 minutes and we're no experts. Takes three double mattresses with plenty of room for other stuff. Incredibly stylish and gorgeous!" -says Mumsnetter SR248, and of course we quite agree.
Mumsnet say "Chosen by you: After a family tent that will stand up to the elements and the test of time (and won't take ages to put up)? Check out our top five, as rated by Mumsnetters."
Mumsnet was conceived in early 2000 when JustineMumsnet embarked on a disastrous family holiday. Her idea was to create a website where parents could swap advice about not just holidays but all the other stuff parents talk about.

Armed with a SoulPad 4000-ease, our new best friend Wayne Hall is soon due to set off into the sunset for 6 months of wild camping.
"With just my dog (Jerry) for company I'll be braving the Scottish elements for 6 straight months starting on Feb 27th 2013 & finishing on the 27th Aug.
I see this as a great opportunity to raise some funds for the very worthy charity 'Shelter' who do immense work nationwide helping families & individuals in times of real need.
The self-employed Tiler, who lives near the Peak District, decided to embark on the adventure of a lifetime after discovering that his rented cottage was about to be sold.
He said: “The idea of the trip really reared its head last September after spending a few days wild camping in Galloway Forest Park at Loch Moan.”
“I heard the news just after returning from Loch Moan that my home was to be sold by the landlords in the spring of 2013 — therefore a long trip became a real possibility.”
