  • Like Art, Culture, Lakes & Mountains?

    January 21, 2014 00:00

Find all of these things in one place (and more besides). Sssshhhhhh! Strictly between fellow SoulPadders, ok? This is a real gem and one that we are ever-so-slightly reluctant to share with the masses. A very special place indeed; Fischer's Fritz.

Particularly good for foodies, very close to Zurich's historical centre and in a truly wonderful setting on the German island of Sylt.

Booking highly recommended. More pics in their gallery here.

What a lovely Christmassy image of 'Bertie Blue' the Camper with SoulPad on George Clark's Amazing Spaces, CH4 last night. Twinkly fairy lights, a stunning camper van and a beautifully lit SoulPad. What's not to like?

  • Craig Charles Has Got Soul!

    July 05, 2013 01:00

One of our bestest camping buddies, Craig Charles continues to choose SoulPad as his tentage of choice for the festival circuit. Arriving at The Glastonbury Festival in the early and soggy hours of Friday morning, Craig knew he had the trusted sanctuary of his SoulPad 5000-ease™ to retreat to.

"SoulPad are the best festival tent people on the 'planet' :)"

High praise indeed! Craig was once an Intergalactic Space Traveller and so really knows his planets.

Those of you who missed Craig's performance at the Hell stage missed a treat. Where were you?! Fear not! You can find him on BBC 6Music too:

  • Greenpeace's Glasto Snowstorm

    June 17, 2013 01:00

Greenpeace's Tabitha Pope (Design Coordinator, Greenpeace Field at Glastonbury Festival) tells us "this year The Greenpeace Field at Glastonbury Festival is brought to you by the frozen North.
    Field-header
        •    Enter the Arctic Dome for a genuine North Pole experience.
        •    Gather at the explorers’ hut for first-hand expedition stories.
        •    Don mittens for the greatest unseasonal spectacle Glastonbury has ever seen – a giant snowstorm.
        •    Our Farmers’ Market will have the feel of Svalbard village deep within the Arctic Circle.
        •    Fill up with tasty, healthy food and great coffee in the dock side Cafe before setting off on an Arctic adventure."

    Full details here.

Greenpeace are building a movement of millions, standing together in face of climate change, to stop the destruction of one of the last untouched places on earth. Join them at Glastonbury or at www.savethearctic.org

If you look closely you'll find a Pod of Pads too. A number of the Greenpeace team have opted for the SoulPad 3000-hybrid and SoulPad 3000-ultralite to serve as their home-from-home during the festival. They are a friendly bunch, so fellow SoulPadders be sure to say "hi" if you spot them.

  • 6 Months In Scotland 4000-ease™ Review

    May 26, 2013 01:00

Wayne Hall of 6 Months in Scotland Charity Wild Camp (in Aid of 'Shelter') gives his review of the SoulPad 4000-ease™ he's been using for the past 2.5 months.

    "The Tent.

It's time I sang the praises of what's fast become home over the last 10 weeks.

Isle martinFor 58 of the last 70 nights this 4m SoulPad Ease bell tent has sheltered Jerry & I from hideous weather of every description. It's stored our gear, offered an environment to dry our gear & has really become home from home.
I'm disappointed when not in here, Jerry is too....the little 2 man tent is way too cramped but light, bothy cottages can be busy places & the van is an absolute last resort despite being quite comfy.

The beatings that the SoulPad has taken......70mph+ gales on several occasions....sometimes days of driving rain.....even sheet ice & snow at Glen Affric. A single skin cotton tent doesn't have the right to be still looking so good after intense weather abuse & never did a single drop of rain made it through. Even after it's been soaked for days it dries out fast in the breeze.

The down sides are few & one no fault of the tents at all.

It's a big space inside & therefore more difficult to heat than a small tent.

It weighs just over 20kgs.....no good for back packing! Easy in the canoe. Other than that it's tough, strong, spacious & a nice space to be in.

    Thank you SoulPad"

  • SoulPad & The Cosmos

    May 17, 2013 01:00

We were thrilled when Artist Brian Griffiths contacted us with plans for his latest piece; 'These Foolish Travels' - an installation that certainly brings a huge splash of colour to Norwich Castle's Keep as part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival.

Fh 5.13-25Visitors to the castle will find four tents on display, one being a SoulPad 4000-ease™ painted to look like the cosmos. The remaining three tents are painted to represent the earth, the castle and the human brain. More images here.

These Foolish Travels runs until Sunday, June 2 at Norwich Castle. Mondays to Saturdays 10am–4.30pm and Sundays 1pm–4.30pm.

  • SoulPad Rated in Mumsnet's Top 5 Family Tents

    May 08, 2013 01:00

Thanks to all Mumsnetters who rated the SoulPad in their top 5 of family tents. We're dead chuffed, we really are.

"Simply the best tent ever, can't recommend it highly enough. We can put it up in about 10 minutes and we're no experts. Takes three double mattresses with plenty of room for other stuff. Incredibly stylish and gorgeous!" -says Mumsnetter SR248, and of course we quite agree.

LogoMumsnet say "Chosen by you:  After a family tent that will stand up to the elements and the test of time (and won't take ages to put up)? Check out our top five, as rated by Mumsnetters."

Mumsnet was conceived in early 2000 when JustineMumsnet embarked on a disastrous family holiday. Her idea was to create a website where parents could swap advice about not just holidays but all the other stuff parents talk about.

  • SoulPad Sponsors 6 Months in Scotland Wild Camp

    February 16, 2013 00:00

Armed with a SoulPad 4000-ease, our new best friend Wayne Hall is soon due to set off into the sunset for 6 months of wild camping.

"With just my dog (Jerry) for company I'll be braving the Scottish elements for 6 straight months starting on Feb 27th 2013 & finishing on the 27th Aug.

I see this as a great opportunity to raise some funds for the very worthy 1charity 'Shelter' who do immense work nationwide helping families & individuals in times of real need.

The self-employed Tiler, who lives near the Peak District, decided to embark on the adventure of a lifetime after discovering that his rented cottage was about to be sold.

He said: “The idea of the trip really reared its head last September after spending a few days wild camping in Galloway Forest Park at Loch Moan.”

“I heard the news just after returning from Loch Moan that my home was to be sold by the landlords in the spring of 2013 — therefore a long trip became a real possibility.”

  • Bring Your Own Bell Tent!

    January 03, 2013 00:00

Our friends at Old Bidlake Farm Camping, Dorset tell us "we have several enquiries every year from campers with their own SoulPad Bell Tents and [SoulPad] Tribes who would like to come and camp at Old Bidlake.

However, being located in such a sensitive area (of outstanding natural beauty) our local planners restrict us to allow just four canvas tents upon our camping field from April to October. We are also very aware that one of the things that makes Old Bidlake so special is the rarity of camping in such a beautiful location with so few other guests.

So for 2013 we are hoping that we have found a solution by running our pre-erected camping season from the beginning of May to mid-September and inviting a small number of campers with their own canvas tents to come and stay with us during April and late September.

  • SoulPad Sponsors 4Men 7Brows, Mongol Rally Team

    December 20, 2012 00:00

Idiocy on a grand scale! These guys will travel 8,000 miles with their trusted SoulPad kit, to raise money for Sue Ryder Care, Macmillan Cancer Support. Some pillow-talk from the organisers:

“Your chances of being seriously injured or dying as a result of taking part are high. Individuals who have taken part in previous Adventurists’ adventures have been permanently disfigured, seriously disabled or lost their life.
This is not a glorified holiday. It’s an unsupported adventure and so by its very nature extremely risky. You really are on your own and you really are putting both your health and life at risk. That’s the whole point.”

Good luck guys, we're proud sponsors. You have our full support.
