Gooseberry Field Campsite is based in Pluckley in the heart of Kent. It is owned and run by John and Kerstin - two aging post punk hippies who in 2013 managed to finally escape from a hectic lifestyle in the City to a simpler, more relaxed way of living. Their closest neighbours are now chickens! They enjoy open farmland and open fires.
Kerstin tells us "Our campsite is a 5 acre campsite. We're only one hour from London. It used to be an old orchard so we're planting a lot of fruit trees to restore it to it's former glory.
On site there are chickens and pigs, and we have a small vegetable and herb garden from which guests can pick their own.
We also have an outdoor pizza oven and a wood fired hot tub, along with a tipi for communal use.
There are six luxury glamping bell tents and 4 'just a tents' and then 3 to 4 very spacious pitches for bell tent owners (we like to keep it all glam).
It's all about campfires, cooking and relaxing at Gooseberry Field"
