A Wild Year RevisitedAugust 17, 2015 00:00
You may remember Jen & Sim Benson from our last article. The couple and their children are in the final stages of bravely spending a full year in the wild spaces of Britain having strapped on their boots and given up their house.
Well, they were recently featured in the latest issue of 'Active Dartmoor' magazine in which they give some handy camping tips and a SoulPad 4000-hybrid review.
"For our family adventure we opted for a 4-metre cotton canvas bell tent."
Of course we already knew that but the couple tell us how useful it is a family space when they're not sleeping in it...
"We put the beds away during the day and it turns into a lovely space for us to eat in and for the kids to play in. The heavy-duty zipped-in bathtub style groundsheet is fully waterproof, and it also stops smaller children from escaping under the sides."
Jen & Sim don't stop at tent reviews, they give good advice for any family looking for adventure or simply exploring an area during school holidays. Read the article in Active Dartmoor magazine for hints on cookery, sleeping and how to entertain yourselves if it rains. Which, let's face it, is inevitable.
We'll leave you with this golden nugget of info on pitching your SoulPad:
"Get the kids involved! They'll love to help build their new holiday home. From handing you pegs to putting the poles together it's a great way to introduce them to the world of camping."
